Be sure to pin your favorite icons to the Task Bar, and your secondary icons to the top of the Start menu. Quick-Launch Taskbar Apps: Win + (1-9) As you know, Windows 7 makes it a snap to pin frequently used programs to the taskbar.If you want to open a new instance using your keyboard use Shift-Win-2.For example, I have Chrome as my 2nd icon so Win-2 will always open Chrome. If a letter is underlined in a menu, press the Altkey and the underlined key together instead of choosing that menu item. Use the Windows key plus a number to open a program. In others, pressing the Alt or F10 keys shows available keyboard shortcuts. I use it all the time for applications like Chrome and Notepad. Snap layouts This shortcut is a faster way to snap all your windows into place. The first two types of shortcuts ( File and Internet) are small. File Explorer Stop hunting for the file you’re looking for and quickly open the Windows File Explorer. Keyboard - which is when you press two ( 2) or more keys on the keyboard simultaneously. Internet - which contains a link to a file or website on the Internet. Turn their toggles off to disable both of these. You will find Sticky keys and Filter keys tabs on the Keyboard page. In the Settings app, go to Accessibility and scroll down to the Keyboard tab. Otherwise, you can switch this feature off. When you have a program already opened on the taskbar and you want to open a new instance of that program rather than displaying the already opened instance, Shift-Click. Now, there are three ( 3) kinds of shortcuts in Windows 10 File - which contains a link to a program, file, or folder. In this case, typing twice the Windows key might fix the issue. Keyboard shortcuts can be huge time savers, so I’ve been pleased to see the many additional shortcuts and mouse movements supported with Windows 7.
